Storyteller, Teacher, Journalist
"A writer needs three things, experience, observation, and imagination, any two of which, at times any one of which, can supply the lack of the others."

-William Faulkner
About Me
While many writers have a specific subject they’re passionate about, I find myself keen on many areas. My adoration is for storytelling itself. I pride myself on being plugged in on a wide variety of social topics and current affairs. But it’s putting the figurative “pen to paper,” that I love most.
Much of my published work has dealt with politics. I’ve spent this year covering the South Carolina State House for Carolina News and Reporter, including, the Planned Parenthood Rally, International Women’s Day and The March for Our Lives.
While I’ve been primarily immersed in political coverage, I also have ample experience writing features. I’ve profiled politicians, musicians, organizations and been have featured as a freelance journalist in The State, for the Columbia International Festival.
I’ve spent my entire life following sports as well. But while I don’t care for typical sports journalism, I’m eager to find compelling stories that the average reader isn’t going to find by looking at the box-score.
I’ve shown that I’m not afraid to ask tough questions, work long hours or travel long distances to get what’s necessary for a story. While editing is not my first love, I’m meticulous with my work and want perfection from myself. I love to report because I can do what I’m best at, tell stories.
